Cinema at Jeugdcentrum Hulsbosch, Klarenbeek, The Netherlands – 1984.
Operating under the name “Blacksmith”, this threesome from Brummen released their track called “Constellation” on the compilation album “Rock uit het Oosten”. Like many other bands, this formation also developed, and their group sound, which was close to symphonic Hard Rock, was expanded with elements from Fusion, Progressive Rock, and Jazz. Think of Rush, Saga, Pallas, Allan Holdsworth and King Crimson. A name change was certainly inevitable, and the name “Cinema” was a fact. It was just a shame that the band didn't get further than some local performances, perhaps it was due to the attitude of their manager at the time. Because this power trio could certainly be popular among many Progressive Rock fans.
