Testament at Dynamo Open Air, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, 8th of June 1987
This was the gig everyone was looking forward to, and actually one of the main reasons they came. I don't need to say more about this, as this was a legendary performance with rain ... and lots more rain. Due to the many expected mosh pits, the organization decided to keep the photo booth closed, so that we as photographers were forced to shoot the pictures in the audience. Another striking fact was that the main act Stryper, had indicated in its “rider” that the support act, in this case Testament, was not allowed to make obscene gestures or swear, and certainly not drink on stage. This news spread like wildfire amongst the public waiting in the parking lot of Dynamo, which happened to also be the festival location. You can only imagine the reaction from both the public, and singer Chuck Billy to this. Chuck immediately added fuel to the fire by inciting the public to drink more beer, whilst communicating with as many profanities in his opinion of the situation!! Testament played their set with gusto and fury, which spread very quickly through the audience. The whole thing was recorded, and released firstly as a 5-track EP, and then years afterwards as the complete performance. What a great souvenir for those who were there.
