Stryper at Dynamo Open Air, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, 8th of June 1987
White metal band Stryper had just released “To hell with the devil”, and it was time to introduce the Lords message into the European leg of their world tour. The group was very different from other bands, not only lyrical, but also their stage costumes were marked with Yellow & Black designs which drew a lot of attention. A lot of people were curious to check them out and see what Stryper was all about. Due to the “rider” rumour (see Testament) the band were well known for their interesting behaviour..... this wasn’t appreciated by everyone and some of the audience showed their dislike by throwing beer, turned crosses and bonfires. This wasn’t going to stop them playing their music. And despite the bibles thrown into the audience, the water poured down from the much-praised skies all day long.
