Venom at Paradiso, Amsterdam, The Netherlands on October 28th, 1985.
Ladies and gentlemen, would you like to welcome from the undiscovered tombs of Paradiso ... Venom. The Pope still had his hopes on this former church, but to no avail. Now the dishonour was complete. The headlining satanic trio from Newcastle, inventors of Black Metal, made their attack without the well-known pyrotechnics. Maybe they were not permitted to use them, like some other places during their “World Possession Tour”. What stands out about Venom is that wherever they go or play, they always manage to get the audience on their side. The set consisted of the well-known songs and contained also a new song called “Nightmare”, which showed a more technical direction of the band. Despite the poor sound in the venue, the evil which the whole evening had to contend with, it was still a pleasant concert. A packed Paradiso had also contributed to this…but after all of this I still do not know why Mantas was screaming in front of a mirror in the bands dressing room!!!!
