Lee Aaron at Paradiso, Amsterdam, The Netherlands - 1st of June 1987.
As announced in a previous interview (see previous post) Lee Aaron made a switch to major label “10 Records” (a subdivision of Virgin). And released her fourth self-titled album, simply called “Lee Aaron”, which featured a more melodic approach than her predecessors. In support of the “Heartbeat of the World Tour 1987” Paradiso was visited again. Prior to the concert I had an interview with Lee in the venue’s basement about her switch to a new label and involved co-writers like Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple, and Yngwie Malmsteen). At some point we strayed into topics such as “life on the road” and living in Canada and the Netherlands. The conversation continued and I decided to turn off my recorder. We kept on talking about “this and that” and at one point her tour manager came into the interview room to announce that Lee had to start preparing for the performance. Priceless….
