The Mission at Muziekcentrum Vredenburg, Utrecht, Netherlands, 7th of April 1988.
Gothic rock band The Mission was founded when guitarist Wayne Hussey and bass player Craig Adams both left the Sisters of Mercy during a recording session in the summer of 1985. The newly formed band spent much time touring Europe, secured meanwhile a recording contract with Phonogram Records and released their debut album, “God's Own Medicine,” in November 1986. The Mission went on the road again and also toured North America. The successor was in the pipeline and the band called in the help of Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones to produce their second studio album, “Children”. The influence of a Led Zeppelin-inspired hard rock style became remarkable in their Gothic sound and the record charted at the # 2 position in the UK album chart.
