Fishbone at Paradiso, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 7th of October 1991.
Since the early eighties, Fishbone has played a fusion of ska, punk, funk, heavy metal, reggae, and soul. And became one of the most distinctive and eclectic alternative rock bands of the late '80s. With their exciting mix of different music genres, they became a great source of inspiration for many bands in the crossover genre. That evening Paradiso was packed and almost sold out. Due to a delayed flight of singer Angelo Moore the band started a bit late and filled-up his short absence with some kind of jam. But who cares. As soon as Angelo appeared on stage and the first well known notes sounded, the venue turned into a large pogo-ing crowd. The band played, besides the early anthems, also songs from their recently released “Reality Of My Surroundings” album. Which contained merciless bangers like “Sunless Saturday” and “Fight The Youth”. And the place transformed more than once that evening into one big energy wave.
